During March last year (2008), we were told by the newspapers and presses that by Jan 1 2010, the doctors salary including all allowances would be raised to around RM6000 per month from RM3758 once they completed
their 2-year compulsory housemanship. Not only that, they would also be promoted from UD41 to UD44. For medical officers with the grade UD41 will be automatically promoted to UD44 with higher salaries depending on how long they have been in service.
The actual salary is not that much as told by the newspapers. It is less than that. The actual salary is as explained below.
Current (started 2008-onwards)base salary and allowances of new doctors ( houseman ) as below:
Salary Grade : UD41 P1T6
Starting salary : RM2458.39
Service allowance : RM 300.00
Housing allowance : RM 250.00
Critical sevice allowance : RM 750.00
(on call not included)
Total salary before deduction : RM3758.39
New salary after completed 2-year housemanship as below :
Salary Grade : UD44 P1T1
Base salary : RM 3028.90
Fixed allowances : RM 1450.00 (including critical allowance of RM750, housing allowance of RM400, service allowance of RM300 and COLA RM100 to RM300 depending on the location)

Total salary before deduction : RM4478.90
P/S: 1. Sorry ! No info regarding UZ41/42 ( ARMY’s doctors salary ).
2. For medical officers UD41 with 1 -year housemanships, don’t worry! your salary would be higher as it is based on how many years you have been in service.
For MOs UD41 ( < 2008 ), who haven’t checked whether they have been comfirmed about their promotion or not, can have a check here!
